Anyone that’s ever coached with me knows my approach is pretty DIRECT. I like to go straight to the source….YOUR THINKING.
Not from a judgy kind of place, but from a scientific one.
I like to metaphorically cut the head open and look inside.
I know that sounds gruesome but it’s just my way of trying to examine the wiring that led you to end up where you are now.
When people think of changing bad habits or adopting new ones, they immediately go to their manual or someone else’s, for reference.
That’s an okay place to start but not LIFE CHANGING.
You can google lists, systems, strategies, resources and ‘how tos’ ad nauseam. There are literally hundreds of effective ways to learn, in which one can establish good habits. All good.
I’m going to go out on a limb and assert that you have collected quite a few strategies over the years too.
But the missing piece here is that you can’t Google your way into establishing LIFE CHANGING habits.
The inside of your brain does not come up in the search engine…...AT ALL! (sorry)
The inside of your brain is unique to you.
For that, you need to lay off Google and look inside your own hood.
LIFE CHANGING habits are established by your thinking, not by strategies.
Strategies come easy once you change your thinking.
This is the SINGLE and most PROFOUND life changing DISCOVERY you can make.
When I learned this, all the systems and strategies I had in place rolled in motion like a snowball going downhill, getting bigger and bigger and rolling faster and faster. My productivity and creativity went through the roof. I couldn’t type fast enough to put my ideas down and the things that were on my elusive ‘to do’ list just flew off the page. CHECK, CHECK, CHECK and CHECK!
You probably think you already know what’s coming. Duh! Change your thoughts, change your life.
Well….NO. Wish it were that simple.
We will EXAMINE our thoughts instead. Not try to change them. That has never worked.
In the next few weeks I will explore this idea of LIFE CHANGING habits with you, from the INSIDE OUT.
This is part one.
Not only will we look at our thinking brain’s perspective but learn fun stuff based on neuroscience. This won’t be more personal development for dummies. I will show you exactly where you and most of us get stopped.
Simple, yet profound.
P.S. Come back next week as we look inside YOUR brain. It’s so much FUN!
